The Paper Crane Gallery and Studio just opened its doors in October 2010 and have already hosted a handful of shows and workshops. If you live in Bloomington, Indiana, or the surrounding area, or are coming through town, stop by and see what they have going on.
Their mission statement and video are below:
The Paper Crane Gallery's mission is to support vibrant, emerging artists by presenting exhibitions that increase public awareness of the artists' work while enhancing the cultural diversity of Bloomington, IN. Paper Crane nurtures Midwestern artists (with an emphasis on Indiana artists) who might not otherwise be able to find a venue to exhibit their work. An artist who exhibits at Paper Crane can expect to receive educational feedback and constructive criticism from jurors, the public, their peers and the press. The artist's work is offered for sale with a gallery commission lower than that of commercial galleries.
